We are in the information age rapidly and currently are almost impossible to imagine how the world would be without the Internet. This is due, in part, to the popularization of personal computers, which caused the network to become a leading source to find news and carry out communication.
So it is difficult to find someone who does not use it often enough, especially as a means of quick information. The problem is that each day brings new cyber threats such as data theft, viruses, malware, and other risks. Therefore, the ideal is that you always have your computer protected.
One of the programs that can be used for this task is the solution Microsoft’s own Windows Defender. But a bad aspect of using it is that the application, as a default, does not create a restore point before removing suspicious files, which can cause problems for the computer in the case of an application error.
However, this can be easily solved by making some simple settings in the application itself. To learn how to do it, just follow the tutorial below.
Making the settings
First, open the application, function that can be performed from the home screen by typing “Windows Defender” (without the quotes). Then in the list of displayed results, click on the corresponding item in the program.
That done, the main screen of the application is open on the computer. In it, start entering the menu “Settings”.
Then, click the alternative “Advanced”. Now all you need to do is check the “Create a system restore point”.
In Windows 7
If you are using Windows 7 and Microsoft Security Essentials, the process is the same as explained above for the task. However, if you use Windows Defender in this version of the OS, the procedure is slightly different. First, to open the program, click the Windows button and the bar running, type “Windows Defender” (without the quotes) or you may open from the control panel.
So all you need to do is mark the alternative “Create Restore Point”. Do not forget to click “Save” to make your changes are stored by the application.
There you go! From now Windows Defender will create a restore point on your computer whenever it delete any file or send it to quarantine. Thus, it is easier to do a system recovery in case something does not work out as expected.
